Quests and progress!


Time for another devlog boyz and girlz! For this one we have quests! alongside the quest I've also fixed and finished many of the systems in the background, that's why this one took longer to make.



- Quests -

Quests are split into 2 categories, Main Quests (the main story quests that are split in 4 acts) and Side Quests (quests that you will be able to pick up from NPCs or from the quest board and upon completing won't have an impact on the main story).

Each quest has it's different requirements that you need to fulfil in order to complete them, such as killing or gathering or even just talking with a specific NPC. Once a quest is completed you can interact with the guild assistant, in this case Cynthia, to complete your quests and grab the rewards. Rewards can vary from simple xp and gold to unique items that you can't get from other sources.

Moreover, for now the only place where you can do quests is the Dungeon but in the future I plan to expand this feature to have unique areas where quests can be completed.

- Progress -

I've been really hard at work with fixing many bugs and a ton of incompatibilities I found in the scripts while developing the quests system and integrating it. With this finished, I only have 3 more systems I need to work on in terms of codding.

While the codding part will be finished in a relatively fast time, the pixel art part still remains a big pain, as I am working on all the armors and weapons that will be available in the Act 1 of the game (which will be the dev release) and then the environments designing and painting is taking most of my time, but I hope I'll be done with them soon enough.

while working on all of this I also had some plans on changing some features of the game, that if I'm confident that they will work with the current state of the game I will share it with you all in a future devlog.
